Musa Tasty Tuesday - Anita Ensal (aka Gini Koch)
My recipe today is one that’s perfect for the holidays, perfect for gatherings, perfect for dinner for two or more, and perfect for writing. What’s so awesomely special? My easy and tasty sangria recipe.
Simple Sangria
Ingredients
1.5 Liter or 2 regular bottles of cheap (really, CHEAP) wine -- red or white, depending on preference (don’t waste pricey wine on this -- the more expensive the wine, the less good it tastes in a sangria) -- chilled if white, unchilled if red
1 12 oz can frozen limeade
2 oranges, sliced on the round
2 limes, sliced on the round
Directions
Defrost the limeade until it’s at least squishy in the can. Empty the wine into a large pitcher. Add in the limeade. Add in 2 cans ginger ale. Stir well. Taste. Add in one or both of the other cans of ginger ale to taste.
Do NOT put the citrus into this mixture. Citrus peel will make any liquid it’s in take on a bitter tang after an hour or so.
Instead, put a slice of orange and a slice of lime into each glass, pour sangria over the citrus, serve.
Get a copy of “Contingency Plan” by Anita Ensal, releasing from Musa on December 23rd, and enjoy taking a trip into a modern fairy tale…with several twists. It’ll make a lovely break between wrapping gifts and making more sangria.

Sounds delicious. I love a punch around the holidays. Just made one using apple cider and pineapple juice with ginger ahl. Heated with spices.
Good luck with your modern fairy tale. Sounds delightful.

Nice recipe! Sounds yummy.
I love Sangria, but have never made it myself. Thank you for this recipe-- I think it's calling for me to make up a batch for New Year's Eve!!!
