Meet Erato Author Viki Lyn

Musa is thrilled to welcome to the Musa Family Author Viki Lyn who is releasing her Blue Skye Novel and is part of the brand new Anthology More Love Notes.

In September, I traveled to Eastern Europe. As with all my travels, I come away with impressions of each place I visited.

Anyone who knows me can understand my passion for coffee. I’m always in search for the best cappuccino. New York’s Via Quadronno still holds the honors, but I found a close second at Budapest’s famous Café Gerbeaud, known for its tortes and pastries since 1858. Located on a pedestrian plaza, it was the perfect place to people-watch. Not only was the cappuccino wonderful, so was the 'baked just right’ crispy cookie and the arty red and black cup.

Vienna is the only city where you can sip a coffee drink or down a pilsner while listening to live opera piped from the opera house. Music is literally in the air.
That really left an impression on me, so when Liz asked me to consider writing a short story for More Love Notes, I set my story in Vienna.

My short is titled Lover’s Trill.

The opening scene is set in Vienna, at Café Sacher, where Leo is drinking a coffee with his guitarist Sid. After Leo leaves the cafe, he wanders the winding streets taking in the music and architecture. When he stumbled upon a poster with the image of his ex-lover, he begins to wonder – what if...

More Love Notes  - an anthology of romantic GLBT stories:

Love always has perfect timing.

Across battle lines, foolish games, and conflicting tempos, love always finds a way. From rock and roll to symphonies, modern day geeks to 19th century soldiers, this collection of sexy and romantic stories shows even the loneliest of moments can be made right when the perfect note is delivered. Let More Love Notes find a home in your heart, a reminder that love happens all over, any time, any place. Written by four of the hottest authors in gay erotic romance--Lydia Nyx, Scarlett Parrish, Viki Lyn and Jenny Urban--these stories will definitely add an edge of spice to your Valentine's night.

Here’s a blurb for Lover’s Trill:

Happy to wander aimlessly, Leo slipped his hands into his fleeced-lined jacket. Living in LA, he forgot how cold it could be in February. He turned the corner and sputtered to a halt. Staring at the poster pasted to the side of a building, he didn’t need to read the name spelled in bold letters across the poster to know who it was. He could never forget that face in rapture — when playing or getting off. Music and sex had invoked the same feelings in Andre Revele. Passion was passion, and that man always had both in spades.

The black and white picture showed Andre playing the violin. Numbness swept across Leo as he stared at Andre caressing the bow in those slender-fingered hands — such artistic hands on a large man. It had been love at first sight — or at least lust — when Leo had walked into the practice room.

He could still remember a youthful Andre, not quite grown into his robust physique, as he played the last stanza of Bach’s Concerto in E. The violin’s notes had faded into magic dust, the music echoing in the atmosphere long after the performance was over. Bright green eyes peered through dark lashes and sensual pouty lips morphed into a shy smile. That’s all it took for the seed of love to be planted in Leo’s musical heart.

He scanned the poster for the dates of the virtuoso’s concert. Tomorrow night was the last performance. Leo shuffled on his feet, unable to move away. He bit his lip and traced the image of Andre. Did he dare go?

I’m also very excited to announce the release of Blue Skye, reedited, reissued and reformatted, and now available through Musa Publishing. This is book one in the Woodland Village series, introducing Skye Taylor and Drew Adams and their friends.

After years apart, two childhood friends are reunited-- but will Skye settle for less than love and will Drew face his greatest fear?

Skye Taylor lives the artist life in Manhattan, openly gay and proud. Drew Adams, socially conservative and from one of Woodland Village’s wealthiest families, lives within the limits of his father’s expectations. A successful architect, Drew is content with his work and his marriage. The secret he desperately hides remains safely hidden behind lies and deception, so he thought.

Best friends in high school, Skye and Drew were inseparable. Quiet and serious, Drew was drawn to the outgoing Skye and his hippy loving parents. Then graduation night changes everything. Uncontrollable urges are discovered in a night of passion, a love Drew refuses to acknowledge, a love Skye refuses to deny. Skye leaves town, leaves Drew and leaves all his feelings behind. But he never forgot Drew and that one night that changed their lives.

Years later, painful memories surface with Skye’s arrival and Drew’s carefully constructed world begins to unravel.
